Ernst von Leutsch's annotations to his Theses sexaginta, ca. 1835.

Handwritten annotations by Ernst von Leutsch in a copy of his book Theses sexaginta, written in Latin, published by Dieterich (Typis dieterichianis), Göttingen, 1833. As alluded to in the title, the book contains Leutsch's sixty theses, which he publicly defended, constituting his Habilitation (second, or qualifying dissertation); this publication qualified him for the post of Assessor on the Philosophical Faculty at the University of Göttingen, where he had been a lecturer in classical philology since 1831. The theses address a variety of topics and authors in classical Greek and Latin literature. The annotations, in ink, in the margins, comprise additional references from the classical texts and the scholarly literature; the latest date cited is 1835.
